Homeward bound

Howdy, so here it is the end. we leave for the airport in about 5 hours and it has been on amazing ride. The Lord has shown me and grown me a lot over these past three months. Now I’m not one for details on this thing and I am really hoping to get some sleep in, so I just want to thank everyone for their prayers and support.
Thank You and God bless

still here

ok, so it’s been a little while. Joel and I just got back from Butajeria , or however it is spelled, it was an amazing trip into the country side. we visited the devil’s pool, an Ethiopian version of crater lake, it was so beautiful just to stand there and look out at creation. otherwise Joel and I have been working at an elementary school here teaching English to 1-4 graders. it’s really been a shock to learn about how poor their education system really is. otherwise for the most part my knees are holding up well and everything is moving smoothly. see ya all in a week

SHort and well there ya go

Howdy,
Well currently I am chilling at the ERC so I decided to do another entry. This weekend was a lot of fun, Saturday I hung out with the guys who work on the field here full time and we played some basketball at a local school. Sunday Mesfin took Jeff, Danea, Joel and I to an orphanage called Salem. The kids there were just so amazing they taught us what a friend we have in Jesus in Amharic. We had a coffee ceremony there and just spent a lot of time in fellowship in seeing what God is doing. On the other side of things my knee and ankle are holding up fine with all the walking. IT is really amazing being here. And Ill see ya all in a few weeks.

still alive......i think?

Ok, so it’s been awhile since I blogged so here I go. We spent the weekend down in Awasa, which was beautiful. We traveled through the Rift Valley and saw life as it was before modern technology. Monday and Tuesday I worked at the ERC on trying to get their network running, still having a little trouble getting the computers to find each other. I worked in my first ESL class last night, which was a lot of fu being able to talk with the students about their lives and Addis. Today I will be starting my first computer class with Joel which should be interesting. We continue to remember you all in our prayers. God Bless –you can read Joel’s blog for info on our extensive walking trip

Travel is over and the adventure begins

Well we are in Ethiopia. It was an amazing trip and complicated trip. We flew in to London about ten minutes behind schedule and customs took us about an hour to get through, so it was about 9:30 before we were able to get ready to leave Gatwick for Heathrow. We purchased our bus ticket which cost about 32 pounds or 64 US. however when we about to board the bus driver told us due to a major accident it would take at least 3 hours to get to Heathrow instead of the original hour we were told, but you just go with flow and go where He leads. So we asked the information desk and they pointed us to the train depot. We caught a train to Victoria Station for 28 Pounds and from there took three tubes to Hatton station, where we caught a quick bus to terminal four at Heathrow. This cost us 6 pounds. But the experience was unbelievable, the people were so good natured and ready to help. final we caught our flight which ended up being delayed almost another hour. after the short stop to left 90% of the plane off in Beirut we were on our way to Addis. The final leg took us about 4 ½ hours. We landed at the airport at around 2:30 Ethiopian time. We were meet at the airport by James and too other workers a married couple Matt & Jaime. Then there was today sleep in till about 10 had a slight orientation of the dues and don’ts of Addis with Chad. Chad and James took us to lunch at a local place here which had some interesting food which was really good and spicy. Then it was off to running around the city with two Ethiopian men who I can barely pronounce their names so spelling not going to work. They taught us how to get a taxi and how to get around the city so Joel and I will be able to get around pretty much on our own starting next week. We changed our travelers checks over and now have a lot of burs. we did a lot of traveling around the city just learning basic monuments so we can get to and from the ERC and the Lyle’s. Later in the day the group of volunteers who have been here all summer working at the college came over and we had dinner and just fellowship, as we all do so well. As the night winded down we just hung out and talked with the Lyles and now I’m using their computer. It is going we’ll and I am really looking forward to what He has in store. Internet is really slow, so don’t expect many emails if any, I might be able to get one or two out.

Leaving

OK, so countdown to lift off has begun. We will be leaving today at 6:45. It's really exciting and I'm praying for big and small things to come out of this. I ask that you all will keep us in your prayer. Hope to post again from Africa, until then may God bless you.
